Merry J. Whitney & Associates is a sole proprietorship that operates under reciprocal agreements with other professionals, including writers, artists and various specialists. Merry offers a full range of writing services, based on a solid background and broad experience in all facets of PR, advertising and marketing. Her professional resume-writing history includes service as a regional director for a national writing company, where she hired and trained writers in the mechanics of the genre as well as the finer points, effective use, and respective rationale of alternate resume forms, professional biographical sketches, and job- search support material. |

During eight years as Public Relations Director of a Chicago suburban public library, Whitney regularly conducted resume, employment search, and other seminars, workshops, and discussion groups as part of the Adult Programming schedule. She wrote and in-house published the library newsletter, program and other brochure and informational booklets, grant proposals, press releases and miscellaneous projects. She served as Library Spokesman, as liaison to the local Chamber of Commerce and numerous civic and fraternal organizations, and as a member of and secretary for the municipal President's Advisory Commission. Listed in "Who's Who in Illinois Libraries," 1993-1999. Prior history and experience includes advertising agency copy-writing, radio-television commercial production work, extensive political and miscellaneous business writing, preparation of direct sales presentation material, position papers, and various instructional manuals. General circulation published work includes newspaper reporting, numerous op-eds and articles.. |
